Instead of soil, Tower Garden plants grow in soilless mediums like rockwool, a natural rock fiber, which provides the plant roots with oxygen and consistent moisture, encouraging rapid, healthy growth. Seeds are started in the medium where they develop into hardy seedlings, then transplanted into a Tower Garden where they continue to mature until harvest.

City soil is often contaminated with heavy metals, asbestos, petrochemicals and other pollutants, which can seep into the plants. Tower Garden is a soilless growing system, so there’s no need to worry about contaminated dirt. On top of that, weeds are not an issue, since they need soil to grow.

The reservoir at the base of the Tower Garden is filled with a mixture of the mineral blend and water.
